Care and Maintenance Tips

General Information

  • Your sprinkler system is connected to your plumbing system. If you shutoff the main water valve, you have also shutoff operation of your fire sprinklers.
  • Avoid painting and/or covering the sprinkler heads.
  • Do not hang anything off of sprinkler heads. Make sure nothing is blocking the sprinklers from distributing water if necessary.
  • The water flow of your sprinkler system should be tested every year.

Q: How do I know my sprinkler system is turned on?
A: Your sprinkler system is connected to your plumbing system. If you are able to run water and use your plumbing, your sprinkler system is working.


Q: In the event of a fire do all sprinkler heads activate at the same time?
A: No. During a fire only the sprinkler head closest to the fire will activate. In most cases only one sprinkler head will activate and control fire.
