Plumbing - Hose Bibs

Hose Bibs are located on the exterior of your home to provide an exterior water source.

Care and Maintenance Tips General Information

  • All hoses should be disconnected from the hose bibs prior to the start of winter and especially the first freeze.
  • If a hose is left attached, the water that remains in the hose can freeze and expand back into the pipe, causing a break in the line.
  • If leakage is detected, immediately shut the faucet off and call your plumber.
  • If applicable for your area, we recommend turning off the interior valve leading to the outside faucets, disconnecting the hose, and then draining the line completely.
  • If there is no interior shut off valve, disconnect all hoses and irrigation systems.
